Pick class, arm and department from dropdowns — no typing, so no typos. Each combination can have its own next-term bill printed automatically on report cards. Previous balances come from fee payment records. Works in full once database/complete-schema.sql has been run in Supabase (kills the old "Could not load class bills / schema cache" error).

View this portal's ownership model (one-time / lifetime or subscription), subscription status, expiry and grace period. Admins can renew, extend (+30/90/365 days), suspend or resume the subscription — changes apply portal-wide within 15 minutes.
🔐 Module Access Control — leadership & authorized editors
For each protected module below, the owner tier (Super Admin / Admin / Proprietor) decides whether Principal, Head Teacher and Bursar get Full read/write (default) or Read-only. Individual staff can additionally be granted edit rights per module (same mechanism as the timetable's Authorized Editors). Enforced in the DATABASE (RLS + sc_can_edit) and mirrored in the UI. Needs database/v9.9-aid-editors-subjects.sql.
🤖 AI Assistant (optional — bring your own key)
School Connect never requires AI. If YOUR school wants AI drafting help (lesson plans, report comments, announcements, quiz questions), connect any OpenAI-compatible provider with the school's own key. Calls go straight from the staff member's browser to your provider — HMG is never involved and never billed. Free-tier friendly options: Groq (free tier, https://api.groq.com/openai/v1), OpenRouter (free models, https://openrouter.ai/api/v1), a local Ollama server, or OpenAI/DeepSeek/Together with a paid key. Keys are stored server-side with staff-only read access — students and parents can never see or use them.
Where it appears once enabled: ✨ buttons for staff on Lesson Plans, Scheme of Work, Announcements and Messages, plus AI.openBox() for ad-hoc drafting. AI output is always a suggestion for a human to review — never an automatic decision.
