Storage Manager
🗄️ What is this page?
The free Supabase plan has limited database space. This page shows how much space each table uses and lets an admin safely purge old, low-value rows (audit logs, old exam results, read notifications, old check-ins) to make room for new data. Always export first (CSV/JSON on the Admin Data page) so nothing is truly lost.
🌿 Free-Tier Database Efficiency Centre
No files are stored in Supabase. Configure a database quota target and retention periods, analyse eligible rows, export portable JSON, then purge only when approved. Nothing is auto-deleted.
📦 Archive Vault — move old rows into the 1 GB File Storage
Your database is limited to 500 MB, but Supabase also gives a separate 1 GB File Storage that this platform barely uses. This vault moves old, low-value rows out of the database into File Storage as restorable JSON archives — freeing database space without losing anything. Workflow: 1) Archive to vault → 2) confirm it appears in the list → 3) Purge the same table/days above. Restore any archive back into the database at any time.
One-time setup: run database/storage-offload.sql in the Supabase SQL Editor (creates the private archives bucket; already included in new installs of complete-schema.sql).
